It also greatly reduces or even eliminates the complications and side effects of radiation therapy.

Chemotherapy: Inpatient and Outpatient

Expert Medical Oncologists implement strategies for comprehensive patient care. Chemotherapy is usually administered on an outpatient basis. The Mercy Regional Cancer Center has recently expanded outpatient chemotherapy capabilities in response to growing community need. In our comfortable environment, friendly staff and compassionate, oncology-certified nurses work together to make sure that patients are as comfortable as possible while they undergo treatment.

Participation in National Research Brings Benefits for the Community
The Mercy Regional Cancer Center is a participant in national clinical trials that assess the effectiveness of new cancer treatments before they are available to the general public. That provides new hope for patients whom standard chemotherapy treatments have been ineffective. Working in collaboration with a National Cancer Cooperative Group or pharmaceutical company, Mercy Regional Cancer Center patients may qualify for participation in these ongoing efforts to advance safe and effective new treatments. For more information concerning clinical trials please call (530) 225-7450.
