from Rick Barnett & James De Soto, M.D

Welcome to the physician recruitment portion of the Mercy Medical Center Redding website. We are located in beautiful far Northern California at the upper most tip of the Sacramento River Valley. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, we make our home in a picturesque community where you can practice advanced medicine balanced with a great quality of life.

Mercy Medical Center is an award-winning, regional medical center of a three-hospital system, which comprises Catholic Healthcare West North State. The geographic area served by us and our sister facilities spans 100-miles along Interstate-5, California’s primary north/south corridor, allowing us to readily share resources and expertise. Our sister hospitals in the CHW North State are Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta, approximately 60 miles north of Redding, and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, 30-miles south in Red Bluff.

In collaboration with our Medical Staff, we offer a broad array of medical, specialty and surgical services. The Mercy Heart Center, the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement and the Mercy Regional Cancer Center join comprehensive women and children’s services, and the area's only designated Level II Trauma Center, to present a complete portfolio of care and service. Mercy’s advanced technology coupled with the delivery of safe, quality and gracious care offers patients a holistic approach to health that helps address their spiritual, emotional and physical needs.

Please explore our web site and see how you can join our growing health ministry committed to serving the health care needs of the people who live in far Northern California. We think you will be pleased with the ways we can work together to benefit you, your patients and your commitment to medicine in this great part of the country.

All our best,

Rick Barnett                                          James De Soto, M.D.
