MERCY MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES OUR 2008 VALUES IN ACTION AWARD WINNERS
Award winners Dignity hip The Values in Action Award is Mercy Medical Center Redding’s highest recognition honoring individuals whose efforts best demonstrate the true inspiration and spirit of our core values. These individuals provide outstanding contributions to Mercy’s healthcare ministry. They were nominated by their peers and chosen by a panel of hospital representatives. The comments below come from the nominations.
Brad Nelson, RN- Excellence “Brad is a wonderful nurse who is professional, dedicated, knowledgeable, and strives for success. He is calm, funny, easy to work with, and helpful. He will do everything to achieve excellence in patient care – willing to save a life and help those in need.”
John Hauder, RRT - Dignity “John’s very caring personality enables him to easily approach anxious patients receiving respiratory care. John is patient and uses his God-given gifts of kindness and mercy so patients may experience dignity, comfort, and compassion.”
Laura Gannon, Unit Coordinator - Justice “There is an important dimension to Laura’s competence that I find admirable: her innate sense of the meaning of human dignity. She has the ability to respond to the deeper needs of the human spirit that yearns for respect and acceptance.”
Michelle Stacy, RN - Collaboration “Michele is always upbeat and arrives on the nursing floors with a smile and encouraging words. She is one of those rare people who keeps a commitment, listens with empathy, and maintains a cheery disposition, even under duress.”
Lynn Mills, RN - Stewardship “With our mission and values in her heart every day, Lynn consistently guides others with compassion. She is a force to be reckoned with if she is advocating for a patient. I’ve heard her many times say, “What about the patient?” and, “Is that the patient’s fault?” Lynn does her job extremely well, always going ‘above and beyond’.”
