Golden Umbrella's Volunteer Positions

The below days and times reflect the needs of Golden Umbrella not what is required by a volunteer.

Position Title Duties Days and Hours  Department

Activities Volunteer 

Volunteers help with activities and field trip (volunteers must provide their own transportation). 

Dependant on scheduled outings that take place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Adult Day Health Care 

Activities Volunteer 

Volunteers help with activities including: games, arts and crafts, etc..

Monday through Friday
9 a.m to 1:30 p.m. 

Adult Day Health Care 

Entertainers

Singers, Dancers, Comedians, Magic, etc...

Monday through Friday
10 a.m to Noon

Adult Day Health Care 

Office Assistant

Volunteers file and organize paperwork.  

Eight to 10 hours weekly.  Hours are flexible.

Multipurpose Senior Services Program
Linkages

Office Assistant

 Volunteers file and organize paperwork. 

 One day per week

Administration 

Office Assistant

Volunteers file and organize paperwork. 

Monday through Friday

 Support Services

Activities and Decorating

Volunteers put up and take down decorations. 

First two and last two business days of the month.
2 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

 

Adult Day Health Care 



Project and Office Assistant

Volunteers help with newsletter distribution, mailings, answering phones, etc... 

One to four hours per week as needed 

Foster Grandparent & Senior Companion Programs 

Nursing Trainee

Ideal volunteer would be a nursing student or intern and duties would include take blood pressures, weighing participants and filing.

Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 Adult Day Health Care

Physical or Occupational Therapy Trainee

Ideal volunteer would be a physical or occupational therapy student or intern.

Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Adult Day Health Care

Special Projects

Volunteers help on an individual project basis. 

When needed 

All Departments 

 Social Services Trainee

Ideal volunteer would be a student or professional in psychology, social work or related fields. 

Monday through Friday
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Adult Day Health Care
Social Services Department 

 Grounds Assistant

 Volunteers cut grass, trim bushes, weed beds, etc...

Hours are flexible

Maintenance

Phone Reassurance Operator 

From home, volunteers call seniors in the morning to check on them. 

Hours are flexible

Support Services 

Foster Grandparents

Volunteers work with youth in the schools.  Volunteers must meet age and income requirements.  A stipend will be paid. 

 Monday through Friday
Hours are flexible
