Quit Smoking For Good Class Starting March 10, 2009

If you’re a smoker, spring into action and quit. Mercy offers another free Quit for Good Class in March.

When: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 6-8 PM (for eight sessions)
Cost: Free
Location: Mercy Medical Center’s Floyd Morgan Family Cancer Resource Center

You may already know that smoking causes lung cancer, emphysema, heart disease and many more health related illnesses, but have you considered the additional benefits of quitting? A few days after the last cigarette, the chances of having a heart attack decrease, pulse rate slows to normal, the ability to smell and taste improve, and breathing becomes easier. Within months, coughing decreases, energy level increases and exercise becomes easier.

It may take smokers more than one attempt to finally quit. Quitting is tough, but there are plenty of resources to help. Ask your doctor, and call 24-MERCY to get more information about our Quit for Good, smoking cessation class. The classes are free and taught by a certified Quit for Good instructor. The program, consisting of eight-sessions, meets at Mercy Regional Cancer Center from 6-8 PM. Please call 24-MERCY (246-3729) or click here for more information and to register for the class. Seating is limited.
