Mercy Offers Scholarships to Local High School Seniors Interested in Health Care
Each year Mercy Medical Center Redding awards six scholarships to local high school seniors who will be entering College in the fall and majoring in a health care related field. This program allows Mercy an opportunity to invest in the youth of our community who want to dedicate their careers to healthcare/medicine. Details of the Scholarship Program follow.
Available funding A total of $5,000 is available to be awarded.
There will be four $1,000 scholarships and two $500 scholarships available. Any senior can apply for a scholarship. However, due to availability of funds and number of applications received, amounts awarded to each individual will be at the discretion of the Mercy Medical Center Redding Scholarship Committee.
Minimum Criteria for a Scholarship
Scholarship applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Health career oriented Major
- Involvement in School/Extracurricular Activities
- Involvement in Community Activities
- Financial Need
- Must be enrolled and beginning college in the Fall of 2009
Deadline for Application
If students are interested in applying for a scholarship, an application must be submitted.
