Helping you move toward the life you want

Mercy Medical Center Redding’s Center for Hip and Knee Replacement

Introduced in February of 2007, Mercy offers a dedicated Center for Hip and Knee Replacement within its Orthopaedic Unit.  This special in-hospital camp is designed to pro-actively help individuals undergoing hip and knee replacement, before, during and after their procedure.

A Guide for Hip and Knee Replacement Patients and Their Families
What to expect during your stay

Nurses and physical therapists are specialized in the care of joint patients who work with your Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement.  A great deal of emphasis is placed on group activities to help complement individual care.  Family and friends are encouraged and instructed about how they can also participate in your recovery process. The Center’s Joint Care Coordinator will assist you in planning your pre-operative and post-operative experience.  At our complimentary pre-operative Total Joint Replacement Wellness Class, the coordinator will present you with a comprehensive guidebook for you to start following six weeks before your surgery.  After Surgery, the guide book will offer important information for you to follow for approximately three months. Additionally, Financial Counselors are available to address any questions regarding available payment options.
