Softball teams compete throughout the year on all weather fields. Redding also is home to a competitive and family friendly aquatic center and an all weather soccer complex.

Along with Redding Riverfront Playhouse, Redding is home to Shasta College and Simpson University. Both have Performing Arts curriculum and provide community plays, concerts and events.
